Tufan9 Telugu News voluntarily follows the Code of Ethics prescribed by the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA). This code reflects our commitment to responsible journalism, editorial independence, and the constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution of India.
This Code is intended to define ethical standards and best practices for digital news publishing. It does not interfere with the day-to-day editorial functioning of the organization, which remains fully independent.
The primary objective of this Code is to uphold credibility, fairness, transparency, and professionalism in digital journalism while protecting the independence of journalists and publishers.
1. Compliance With Law
Tufan9 Telugu News complies with all applicable laws of India, including:
- The Constitution of India
- Laws governing media and press
- Relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC)
- The Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules
2. Journalistic Standards & Professional Conduct
We adhere to widely accepted principles of journalism and ethical reporting.
Our newsroom follows internal editorial checks and self-regulatory practices to ensure:
- Responsible reporting
- Professional integrity
- Accountability at the journalist and editor level
3. Accuracy, Transparency & Fairness
- Publication of false, misleading, or distorted information is avoided
- All news reports undergo verification before publication
- Defamatory content is not published
- Applicable laws and ethical standards are strictly followed
4. Right to Response
a. When allegations are reported, reasonable efforts are made to include the version or response of the concerned individual or organization.
b. If a response is received after publication, it is added appropriately with a clear update date.
c. Subsequent developments, if requested by affected parties, are reflected responsibly in the article.
5. Correction, Editing & Removal of Content
- If any report is found to contain incorrect or inaccurate information, and the affected party provides valid proof, necessary corrections or edits will be made
- If an entire article is proven to be false or misleading, it may be removed from the platform
- Corrections are carried out transparently and promptly
6. Intellectual Property Rights
a. Copyright in text, images, videos, illustrations, graphics, and other material is respected
b. Permission is obtained before using copyrighted material, and proper attribution is given
c. Fees or royalties are paid where required
d. Trademarks and service marks are not used without authorization unless covered under fair use
e. Upon receipt of valid infringement complaints, content may be edited, removed, or taken down
7. Reporting on Crime & Sensitive Issues
- Presumption of innocence is maintained until proven otherwise
- Speculation, sensationalism, and trial-by-media are avoided
- Reporting is factual, balanced, and unbiased
- Commentary on evidence, witnesses, victims, or accused is avoided
8. Special Protection in Sensitive Reporting
Extra caution is exercised while reporting on:
- Sexual harassment and sexual offenses
- Crimes involving children or minors
- Matrimonial disputes, divorce, custody, and adoption cases
- Communal, religious, or caste-related incidents
We strictly follow Sections 67, 67A, and 67B of the Information Technology Act, 2000, which prohibit publishing obscene or sexually explicit material, especially involving children.
- Names, images, or identifying details of victims or juveniles are never published
- Photographs of victims, residences, workplaces, or family members are avoided
9. Grievance Redressal Mechanism
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable Intermediary Guidelines:
- Tufan9 Telugu News follows a grievance redressal process
- A designated Grievance Officer is appointed
- Complaints are acknowledged within the prescribed time
- Genuine grievances are addressed within one month
This ensures compliance with Section 79 of the IT Act and related safe-harbor provisions.
10. Training & Editorial Awareness
We conduct regular awareness and training programs for editorial staff covering:
- Constitutional provisions and media laws
- IPC, CrPC, defamation (civil & criminal)
- Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights
- POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice laws
- Reporting standards for sexual offenses, domestic violence, caste or gender-based crimes
11. Court Reporting & Privacy
- Special care is taken while reporting court proceedings and judicial matters
- Legislative privileges and legal sensitivities are respected
- Reports are factual, neutral, and free from commentary
- Privacy of individuals, especially those not in public life, is respected at all times
